About

Greetings, I'm Evan!
I write and edit books for a living.

I'm a writer, editor, poet, Christian, and Quinault Indian born and raised in Bellingham, WA. I started my editing career in 2021, straight out of college with my BA in English. Over the next three years, I earned my MFA in creative writing from the University of Saint Thomas, co-authored an ongoing science fiction series, edited a dozen books, and completed my own poetry collection. Now I spend most of my days editing. When I’m not doing that, I’m reading, studying theology, watching films, playing video games, writing my own poetry and fiction, or leading various writer’s groups.

Over the last few years, I have spent thousands of hours writing and editing in various genres for numerous authors. Some of my favorite projects include coauthoring Space Pioneer by Jesse Roberts, editing The Shore Speaks by Tyler Garcia, and acting as the posthumous editor for my close friend A.A. Fouch, working on her poetry collection, I Lost My Keyes in Space and her devotional, Soldier Up, Buttercup.

Evan Rhoades is a freelance editor born and raised in Bellingham, Washington. Evan can spot an italicized period from a mile away, and he boasts many other questionably useful skills, mostly acquired from editing at all hours of the night. He has a BA in English from Northwest University and an MFA in creative writing from the University of Saint Thomas. He dreams of making it big as an author—mainly so he can buy all of his favorite books for his future wife and kids. His greatest accomplishment—and struggle—is allowing a book to be published without reading it through “just one more time.” Evan’s writing and editing skills are available at Rhoadeswriting.com for those aiming to write with skill, precision, flair, and most importantly, heart.
